Friedel Dzubas
German Abstract Painter
(1915 - 1993)
Dzubas painted in an abstract style from the 1950s. His style reflected his involvement with the New York scene, but also showed evidence of the European tradition. He used vivid colors applied in a broad yet anonymous fashion. He used a scrubbing technique which allowed for the colors to make an impact without any obvious evidence of the human hand. By the Seventies his paintings became highly dramatic through his use of surprising color contrasts and the dynamic results caused by the clashes between dark and light.

Printed for a preview show in 1966 at the Andre Emmerich Gallery in NYC.
Condition Notes: This original screen-printed poster is in very good condition, although the paper has suffered some very light crinkling over the last 41 years. This will frame up nicely and would be a spectacular candidate for linen backing.
A really great screen-printed poster! The colors are sharp!
